CHAIRPERSONS APPLICATIONS FOR SOFIMUN IV OPEN!

The application procedure for chairpersons for SOFIMUN 2011 conference is now officially OPEN!

You can apply for the following 6 organs:

- Security Council (SC)

- Human Rights Council (HRC)

- United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)

- Organization for Security and Co-Operation in Europe (OSCE): Economic and Environmental Forum

- Council of the European Union (CEU) - Economic and Financial Affairs

- European Parliament (EP) - Foreign Affairs Committee (AFET)

Each organ will be chaired by two chairpersons.

HOW TO APPLY?:

Apply with the following documents:

- detailed CV, including your educational, language and extracurricular activities background + MUN experience

- motivation letter (max 2 pages), explaining your motivation to apply for chairperson and for specific organs

- list 3 of the offered organs in order of preference.

All chairperson applications will be evaluated by the Secretary-General and the President of the EU of SOFIMUN 2011. The 4th edition of SOFIMUN will be held between 23rd and 30th of July 2011 in the beautiful city of Sofia, Bulgaria.

SOFIMUN PROUDLY ANNOUNCES INTERNATIONAL RECRUITER – MR. MIHNEA STOICA

The SOFIMUN 2011 conference will be honored to have on its team as international recruiter, Mr. Mihnea Stoica, prominent young leader, popular MUNer , creator and organizer of NAPOMUN (Cluj-Napoca Model United Nations), awarded delegate and chair at the previous conference editions, and our dear friend. The SOFIMUN team is happy to welcome Mr. Stoica among us.

Following the tradition of its previous editions, SOFIMUN aims to gather in its team only most successful young people with advanced knowledge and preparation in various areas in order to ensure the best possible conference. Since 2010, SOFIMUN invites for the important academic position of recruiters two people with undoubtedly proven qualities - one international and one Bulgarian. Mr. Stoica will be working together with Mr. Andrey Stoychev both of them ensuring the correct and effective distribution of delegates within the 6 SOFIMUN committees and the media body, the fair balance and cooperation in each of the organs, taking first hand responsibility for the total work of the SOFIMUN 2011 confernece committees.

SOFIMUN ORGANS AND ORGANIZATIONS FOR THE 4th EDITION

The SOFIMUN Foundation and the SOFIMUN 2011 Organizing Committee, Ms. Maria Haferkorn, Secretary-General and Mr. Dino Simonoski Bukovski, President of the European Union of SOFIMUN 2011 are announcing the organs and organizations that will be simulated on the 4th annual international Model United Nations conference, SOFIMUN.

The SOFIMUN 2011 edition will give its participants the opportunity to attend again UN and EU bodies, as well as a new, third international organization and a media body (the SNN).

The organizations and organs of SOFIMUN 2011 will be:

- Security Council (SC)

Mr. Florian Wittig from Germany, was an SNN 2010 journalist of Le Monde Diplomatique. His outstanding work, commitment, friendship and professionalism on each step, made him the most logical and best choice for our next conference! The SOFIMUN Foundation is happy to announce the appointment of the Vice Editor of the SNN media for the 4th edition of the annual international SOFIMUN conference:

MS. NEDA ENEVA
Neda is joining the team on this position for a second consecutive year – in 2010 she was working as a vice with Mr. Marin Aeschbach. Being a journalist in 2009, the first year SOFIMUN launched the SNN media, Neda is a real backbone of our media project, person that devoted her remarkable professionalism and great personality in making the SNN media the most successful MUN media. WELCOME BACK, NEDA!

Ms. Neda Eneva will work on the position of a Vice Editor together with the already appointed Editor in Chief, Mr. Florian Wittig.

Prominent young specialists, Ms. Haferkorn and Mr. Bukovski are important and integrative part of the SOFIMUN family since the conference’s very first edition in 2008 to the one in 2010 as delegates, chairpersons and of course, part of the Foundation’s team. Ms.Haferkorn and Mr. Bukovski are also exceptional MUN participants with many conferences behind their backs as delegates, chairpersons and SGs, awarded numerous times for their outstanding performance and with great contribution to the international dialogue between young people in many parts of the world.
